DENVER, June 28, 2007 – The Stapleton community and greater Denver can show its support for U.S. troops now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Shops at Northfield Stapleton is collecting signatures on a large banner, collecting DVDs and cooling fans now through July 4th for American armed forces serving in the Middle East.

Banner

The large ___ x ______ banner hangs next to La Sandia Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar located on Northfield Stapleton’s Main Street.  Visitors are encouraged to sign a personal message for our troops on the banner.  The banner has been generously donated by Fine Line Graphics, Denver.

DVDs

In conjunction with AMVETS (a nationally chartered veterans organization in existence for more than 60 years), Northfield Stapleton is asking visitors and shoppers to donate new and used DVDs to offer our troops a form of save entertainment.  For more information, visit: www.operationdvd.us.  New and used DVDs can be donated at _______________________________.

Cool-It Fans

Shoppers also can help keep our troops cool by purchasing Cool-It Fans with batteries at Brookstone. All fans are donated to the Adam Conboy Memorial Fund to benefit U.S. Marines in Iraq. For more information, visit www.adamconboymemorialfund.org.  Brookstone is located on Northfield Stapleton’s Main Street.

Diana Fiore, director of marketing for The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, said, “We hope the community will come out and show their support for our troops.  You can simply offer a message of hope by signing the banner, and/or you can donate something of value that our troops can enjoy.”
